Iterative collaboration processes
As a general rule, collaboration with CALDISS takes place iteratively, with the end goal of delivering a type of product (dataset, program, script etc.). This means that when a project starts, an agreement is made with CALDISS as to what CALDISS will contribute with and attempt to do. Based on this, a deadline for a final "delivery" of the contribution is agreed, as well as a number of follow-up meetings. Meeting dates will be scheduled on an ongoing basis.
At the follow-up meetings, the work in progress is presented and discussed. The purpose of the follow-up process is to decide whether the collaboration should be continued, modified or terminated. At the follow-up meetings, the preliminary product, program or other work is presented. This is to get a concrete understanding of the progress of the work and how CALDISS’ solutions will be able to match expectations . On this basis, a decision is made on how the collaboration should continue. If the product needs to be modified to such an extent that it no longer falls within the original project description, the collaboration will be terminated. A new collaboration process can then be agreed.
At the same time, the follow-up meetings aim to give the project participants insight into the methods and techniques that are being used. Depending on relevance and interest, a workshop is also set up, where project participants learn to work with the specific methods and techniques.
At the end of the process, the final product is delivered. Delivery of a product does always mean that the best solutions have been found or that all possibilities have been met. This means that a completed collaboration process is often followed by new collaboration processes, where the parties continue to work on a product or an idea.
Depending on the result, we encourage project participants to hold a seminar at CALDISS about their project experience.
